NewLaw sees significant growth in 2012

In the past year, as it continues its expansion in the legal services market, Wales’ leading law firm, NewLaw Solicitors has hired over 100 new staff. The latest senior appointments are for its fast-growing serious injuries team.

Timothy Carter, 41 from Bristol, previously worked for a Bristol law firm and brings 15 years’ experience as a spinal injury and medical negligence specialist to NewLaw.

Mike Tonkin, 49 from Cardiff, joins NewLaw as welfare manager, having worked for Cardiff Council for 17 years as a senior social worker. Mike worked at Rookwood Hospital in Cardiff for 15 years specialising in rehabilitating patients with spinal and brain injuries, as well as supporting clients with neurological conditions and physical impairment.

At NewLaw Mike will work with the serious injuries department, liaising with clients who have been seriously injured and their families, providing guidance on care and financial issues as well as providing emotional support.

Since NewLaw was established in 2004 by Helen Molyneux, the firm has grown rapidly from a team of six people to be ranked among the top 10 personal injury law firms in the UK and one of the UK’s top 100 law firms. It now employs almost 300 staff and represents over 20,000 clients each year.

The company is continuing to grow due to its commitment to providing the best client service through innovative partnership deals with consumer organisations and is expected to see further growth over the next year.

Helen Molyneux, CEO of NewLaw, said: “2012 has been an excellent year for us and we’re really pleased to welcome Timothy and Mike to the business. We’ve employed over 100 legal staff in nine months as a result of growing demand from our existing clients and for the broader range of services we can offer.”
