Verisure commits to Quorum Business Park

Shelborn Asset Management has completed a major letting at Quorum Business Park that will lead to the creation of 1,000 new jobs in North Tyneside.

Verisure UK Services Limited has signed an 11-year lease at the 104,000 sq ft Neon Building only three months after Shelborn acquired approximately 50 per cent of the 1 million sq.ft office park.

Europe’s largest residential and small businesses monitored alarm provider, with more than 3.3 million customers in 17 countries, Verisure is investing £3 million in its move to the North East’s largest business park.

The company is taking 35,000 sq ft on the 1st floor of the building with first option over an additional 25,000 sq ft, which is earmarked for future expansion. The new operating site is in addition to the firm’s existing facility in Brentford, London.

Brian Rabinowitz, director of Shelborn Asset Management, said: “We are very excited to welcome Verisure to Quorum and believe it is the ideal environment for its business to thrive in the North East. Quorum has the infrastructure, retail and leisure amenities as well as the availability of modern open plan office accommodation to accommodate dynamic organisations such as Verisure and we wish them every success.”

The new headquarters will feature open plan floor plates that encourage teamwork and cohesion, a new alarm receiving centre, several outdoor spaces, an on-site nursery and fitness centre.

Verisure’s managing director, Gabino Sanchez, said: “We identified Quorum Park as the ideal location for our new site after deep analysis of more than 15 of the UK’s larger urban areas. North Tyneside stood out for many reasons including the friendliness of the people, the incredible quality of life and the high standard of education.

“We have been tremendously encouraged by the expert guidance, support and enthusiasm of Invest North East England, who greatly assisted us with information and the coordination of a number of insightful visits to the region. Likewise, North Tyneside Council and the North of Tyne Combined Authority were a hugely positive influence and convinced us that North Tyneside is the perfect location from which Verisure can meet its very ambitious growth targets.

“Quorum Business Park provides us with the space and amenities to help us reach our goals while ensuring we continue to provide a best-in-class service to our growing customer base.”

Quorum is already home to some of the North East’s biggest employers, including Greggs, Balfour Beatty, Tesco Bank and Home Group, with around 6500 staff across all of its tenants.
