Homecare provider finds new base in Bury St Edmunds

The latest letting confirmed by the Bury St Edmunds office of Barker Storey Matthews (now part of Eddisons) sees a leading homecare provider opening its latest Suffolk operation in the town centre at 4 Kings Road Mews.

Helping Hands is a family owned and managed company, providing a range of support and services to enable its clients to retain their independence as much as possible and remain in their own homes.

The company has 96 branches and the new Bury St Edmunds branch is its first in the town, adding to its other nearby branches in Ipswich, Cambridge, Norwich and Colchester.

The company has taken a new lease on 4 Kings Road Mews, a double fronted, 92.sq m (996 sq ft) retail unit in a prominent location, close to the Arc shopping centre. The unit was previously occupied by a dental practice and Helping Hands is currently undertaking a fit out to suit its own requirements, with a view to opening next month (February).

Speaking about the opening of the Bury St Edmunds branch, William Simmonds, Property and Facilities Manager, Helping Hands, said, “We’re very pleased to be opening our latest branch in Bury St Edmunds.

“From here, we can extend our existing services in Suffolk to those living in the town itself and, of course, those in the surrounding network of villages and hamlets for whom Bury St Edmunds is the closest service hub. Whilst also offering valuable employment opportunities for local carers.”

Simon Burton, Director, Barker Storey Matthews, added, “Helping Hands’ new premises gives the company a prominent, central location.

“Kings Road Mews is in the heart of the town’s retail, leisure and cultural centre and has good accessibility via private and public transport – something which, we feel sure, the company and its clients will appreciate.”
