North West specialist property company celebrates its first anniversary

Momentum Group, the North West-based property services business co-founded by Chris Bliss and Chris Renshaw, is celebrating its first year in business with the opening of Pull&Bear, its 25th project with Liverpool ONE.

The Group was created by Bliss and Renshaw to provide clients with four key aspects of project delivery and property management: advice, build, manage and maintain, a combination of capabilities unique in the sector. The Group’s offer reflects the experience of its founders, whom between them have worked on some of the most highly regarded and successful developments in the UK, including Liverpool ONE, Southgate Bath and Heathrow Terminal 2.

The companies in the Group are Momentum North West, which provides property advice, consultancy and project management; Momentum Build, which offers construction services to owners and developers; Momentum Property Management, a specialist in managing buildings and places, such as Baring Real Estate’s The Keel residential scheme; and Momentum Facilities Management, the newest addition to the Group that will provide clients with on-site operational expertise.

Momentum has established a very strong roster of clients in the past year, including Grosvenor, Park Group PLC, U+I PLC and Glenbrook. A recent win, and the team’s first instruction outside the North West, is a project with Value Retail to provide advice on the facilities management at Bicester Village. To ensure the breadth of clients is serviced to the standards set by Bliss and Renshaw, Momentum now employs 11 full-time staff and works closely with a number of specialists as an extension of the team. The company is based in offices in Liverpool city centre.

Commenting on the success of their first year, Chris Bliss, Co-founder, said: “Whilst Chris and I had high hopes, our first year has exceeded our expectations. Special thanks, however, must go to our clients and team. Without their support and commitment, we could not have had such a strong start.”

Chris Renshaw, Co-founder, added: “We are a company created out of the North West and plan to specialise in the region, providing a unique set of skills and experience to leading property owners, developers and managers. Our approach is professional, accessible and effective, backed by an experienced team that is second-to-none. We have had a great start, but there is more to come.”

Momentum North West provides project management and retail delivery for Liverpool ONE, working with Grosvenor and operators to deliver new stores and restaurants, reconfigured units and refurbishments. The Pull&Bear store on Paradise Street is the latest example, while others include Too Faced, Morphe and Polo Ralph Lauren.

Alison Clegg, Director, Asset Management, Grosvenor Europe, commented: “We enjoy a close working partnership with Momentum that has delivered some great results in its first year. Momentum’s ability to understand our objectives stands out.”

Another key achievement in the first year has been the creation of the Momentum Foundation in partnership with the Community Foundation for Lancashire and Merseyside (CFLM). The Momentum Foundation is a dedicated charitable trust and endowment fund to benefit local community organisations, with Momentum the first SME in the Liverpool City Region to create such an entity.
