Air Cargo Centre takes off at East Midlands Airport

Following an extensive marketing campaign and a flurry of lettings over the last few months, joint agents FHP Property Consultants and Commercial Property Partners have achieved full occupancy at the Air Cargo Centre at East Midlands Airport.

The Estate comprises some 20 units totaling circa 150,000 sq ft and was purchased by M7 Real Estate on behalf of investors just under 12 months ago, at which point the estate was two thirds occupied.

Three recent lettings have filled the estate including 5,500 sq ft to HGV Direct, 14,000 sq ft to Norsk Global and 5,900 sq ft to DHL.

Tim Richardson of FHP Property Consultants comments: “Following the acquisition of the Estate by M7 Real Estate, the marketing was relaunched and both FHP and CPP had a good level of enquiries from high quality companies. In fact we still have requirements for the Air Cargo

Centre which we have not been able to satisfy there. The calibre of these companies and the rental tone set highlights the benefits of this location and the standard of units on offer.”

Stuart Waite of CPP comments: “We are delighted to reach full occupancy at Air Cargo Centre following a busy few months of letting activity, demonstrating resilient levels of demand for good quality, well positioned warehouse facilities in the region. We’ve managed to attract some fantastic occupiers to the estate, driven largely by its position at the centre of the region on the East Midlands Airport campus, just a stone’s throw from the M1”

James Chasen, Asset Manager at M7 Real Estate adds:“We are very pleased to have been able to acquire this Estate, drive the rents and achieve full occupancy on behalf of our investors within a relatively short period.”

The Air Cargo Centre is situated on the East Midlands Airport Campus with excellent access to the M1 Motorway at Junctions 23a and 24. East Midlands Airport is the UK’s number one pure cargo airport managing over 365,000 tonnes per year and is home to leading air freight operators such as DHL, TNT and UPS, as well as being a major air hub for the Royal Mail.
