Demand for commercial storage land remains strong

Commercial property consultants Vickery Holman have just successfully sold some secure yard space within the Mutley area of Plymouth.

Acting on behalf of Western Power Distribution, Vickery Holman commenced a marketing campaign and very quickly found that there was significant interest in acquiring one of the last remaining open storage sites located centrally in Plymouth.

The accommodation is located to the rear of Mutley Plain in Belgrave Lane.  Whilst this area is largely known for its retail centre and residential housing, this site is located amongst a number of secondary commercial uses.

The site provides a total of 5,723 sq ft of space made secure via palisade fencing.  Included on the land is a two storey building structure of poor quality which gave purchasers the option to demolish for further storage or convert to covered accommodation.

Following a successful marketing campaign, a invitation for best bids was sent resulting in terms being agreed with a private party to purchase the freehold .

Anthony Eke from Vickery Holman states, “We have recently put several open storage sites on the market in Plymouth, each resulting in a significant of interest being received from parties like builders, scaffolders and private individuals.  In each case it has meant that we have been able to achieve in excess of industrial land values.

This was certainly the case here where we managed to attract a number of bids well in excess of the £35,000 guide.”
