Conversion proposals for listed building

Acting on behalf of the freehold owners, Goadsby Planning & Environment has submitted planning and listed building applications for the conversion of part of 10, and 10a West Street, Wareham, to three self contained dwellings.

The property is a Grade II listed building, dating from the 18th century. The successful Goadsby residential estate agency
business trades from the front of the building.

Commenting on the applications, Goadsby Director of planning Peter Atfield states: “The rear part of the building already has consent to be converted into a cottage. The new proposals convert an existing, rather run down but large first floor flat, into two smaller flats. This makes the best use of the accommodation, which is well located in the centre of Wareham, in close proximity to shops, businesses and leisure facilities. If granted, the accommodation can be substantially upgraded whilst still retaining the integrity and characteristics of the fine historic property.”
