Industrial occupiers make a special brew

The latest industrial lettings by Barker Storey Matthews’ Cambridge office sees two new occupiers with complementary business interests in beer come together in neighbouring units in Waterbeach.

Units 2 and 3 Convent Drive – part of the Denny Road Industrial Estate in Waterbeach – have been let to Pastore Brewing and Blending Ltd and Distant Lands Ltd, respectively. Both businesses are brand new ventures and are already exploring ways in which they can work together.

Pastore Brewing and Blending Ltd has taken a 10-year lease on the larger of the two units where the 323 sq m (3,481 sq ft) warehouse premises will be used for beer brewing, storage, off-sales and taproom serving, subject to the relevant licences.

Distant Lands Ltd, as an importer and distributor of speciality foreign and UK bottled beers, has taken a five-year lease on Unit 3 which gives it 162 sq m (1,745 sq ft) of warehouse storage, which it is currently fitting-out.

Although aware of each other through the local brewing scene, the two new occupiers are in neighbouring units purely by chance.

Barker Storey Matthews was the sole agent under instruction on the two units at Convent Drive, Waterbeach.

Laurence Gercke, of the agent’s Cambridge office, commented, “We wish both occupiers well in their new premises and look forward to toasting their success with the fruits of any future collaboration between the two fledgling businesses.”
