St. Modwen, the expert developer and regeneration specialist, has finalised a deal with Auto Windscreens to establish a local distribution centre at the developer’s £150 million Access 18 business park in Avonmouth.

The company is one of the UK’s largest windscreen replacement providers with a 500-strong workforce. When it moves into the new 10,000 sq ft commercial unit at Access 18 early next year, the premises will serve as a glass stock holding and dispatch centre for the company’s network across South Wales and the south west of England.

This month also saw current occupier of Access 18’s unit 7d, Plant-Ex Ingredients, expand and move into an additional 6,000 sq ft unit at Access 18 to service and grow its customer base.

Claire Church, Operations Manager at Auto Windscreens, said:

“The established reputation of Access 18, and its close proximity to the M5 motorway, make it the perfect choice for our business. We have ambitious plans to continue to expand and grow nationally in line with market demand and our new regional hub at Access 18 will enable us to do this and create new jobs in the process.”

James Irwin-Singer, Development Manager for St. Modwen West and Wales, said:

“Access 18 is a key strategic site for St. Modwen with the potential to provide in excess of 2,200 jobs long term. It is already home to 15 companies occupying over 750,000 sq ft of commercial space. The business park’s excellent transport links and close proximity to labour has made it one of the most attractive locations for both manufacturing and logistics occupiers within the South West. To meet recent demand, this year we have delivered approximately 120,000 sq ft of new accommodation across 14 new speculative units. An additional three larger speculative units are currently under construction to deliver approximately 220,000 sq ft for 2019 with capacity to provide a further 260,000 sq ft in the short term.”

Speculative and ‘build to suit’ units are available now and interested occupiers can contact St. Modwen’s joint agents, Alder King or Knight Frank.
