Select Interiors completes fit at Manchester’s Bonded Warehouse

Design and fit out company Select Interiors has completed the fit out of architectural practice Levitt Bernstein new offices in Manchester’s Bonded Warehouse. Owned by property development and investment company, Allied London, the building is set to be one of Manchester’s coolest period office developments.

The Bonded Warehouse is located in the St John’s area of the City and stands proud as a landmark building, reflecting the industrial past of the area and its heritage.

The first fit out consultant to win a contract in the Bonded Warehouse, Select worked with Levitt Bernstein on the practice’s previous Manchester office in the old Granada Studios building and had impressed the architect with its skilled joinery and over-riding attention to detail, which is evident again in the new office space.

Besides bespoke joinery, work on the new space has included the fit out of M&E facilities, data, partitioning, bespoke steel sliding doors, a large double action pivot wall, storage, flooring and all decoration.

The completed project includes a separate meeting room with crittall style black steel glazed sliding doors and screens; bespoke kitchen area with glass splash backs; storage area and a generous open plan space. Comprising of 200 square metres, on the fifth floor, the space will enable Levitt Bernstein to effectively double its Manchester staff as the unit can accommodate up to 24 staff.

The project took eight weeks to complete and, now that Levitt Bernstein has moved in, the rest of the building is expected to fill quickly. Select Interiors’ managing director, Carl Brown comments: “It’s a priviledge to be involved in the fit out of space in such an iconic building and, as such, we wanted to deliver perfection on all levels, in keeping with the high aesthetic and bespoke detail required.”

Project Architect for Levitt Bernstein, Jamie Potter, adds: “The team at Select was very enthusiastic about the project and keen to engage from the first meeting. We know them as extremely skilled joiners and, for us as architects, there was a certain prerequisite that any work undertaken would have to be carried out to the highest of standards – and Select didn’t disappoint!”
