Sweet success for Lincoln agent

Luxury cakeshop Patisserie Valerie is putting 25 new job on the menu, after snapping-up a new site in Lincoln City Centre.

Today city commercial agent Banks Long & Co welcomed the expanding patissier to Lincoln, after leasing the company a double-fronted unit  in a high-profile, upper High Street location.

Banks Long Director James Butcher said: “Patisserie Valerie’s new premises are in an excellent city centre location, on the doorstep of major retailers, trendy bars and tourist attractions, such as the city’s museum – The Collection.”

Its substantial unit gives the business enough space in which to serve meals, as well as cakes, and the shop is also offering a catering service for weddings and parties.

“We note, with interest, that Patisserie Valerie was named in the Sunday Times  Virgin Fast Track 100 list last year and that it continues to grow significantly beyond its London base.

“It is great to see the business doing so well and showing its confidence in Lincoln, where it has opened its 57th branch, despite the challenging economic climate.”

Mr Butcher  said Lincoln continues to buck the trend seen in many towns and cities, helped by the ongoing development and growth of the University of Lincoln and plans for further investment in retail developments and the city’s transport infrastructure.

The letting to Patisserie Valerie is the second high profile letting to a quality national operator in as many months that Banks Long has dealt with in the City, following on the heels of the letting in May of a new unit on the Brayford Pool to Wagamama.
