Developer Robert Hitchins Ltd has won an award for its contribution to economic growth in a prestigious awards scheme.

The C2S Excellence in Business Awards 2018 seek to shine to spotlight on the best businesses in Gloucestershire and the South West region.

The Robert Hitchins Group, based at Boddington, near Cheltenham, won the Contribution to Economic Growth Award, having developed more than more than 3million sq ft of commercial property in recent years.

The company, formed more than 50 years ago, has evolved to become one of the region’s most dynamic and successful commercial property developers and investors.

The availability of quality property is recognised as a key driver of economic growth and, working closely with landowners and occupiers, Robert Hitchins has developed bespoke accommodation across the industrial and office markets and retains a portfolio of properties throughout the South West and South Wales.

Robert Hitchins Ltd has a long track record of success. Its ongoing projects include 300 acres to be developed at Severnside, Bristol where RHL successfully negotiated with Highways England to enable the site to be accessed off the new M49 motorway junction.

Other major projects include a new 32,700ft² office building to be developed in Cheltenham, and planning permission for a 180,000ft² designer outlet village at Junction 9 of the M5 at Ashchurch.

Property and Development Director for Robert Hitchins Ltd, Simon Tothill, accepted the award for the company.

“We’re pleased that Robert Hitchins’ contribution to Gloucestershire and the South West has been recognised. As one of the major property developers in the region, we take very seriously our mission to provide the best for our commercial property occupiers and look to maintain a long and close relationship with them to enable their businesses to grow and thrive in the best space possible,” he said.

Robert Hitchins’ commercial property sites include Bond’s Mill and Stonehouse Park in Stonehouse, Kingsway Business Park in Quedgeley and Eastern Business Park in Cardiff. It also owns commercial properties in Bristol.
