CBRE strengthens UK Retail Lease Consultancy team with three key appointments

CBRE, the world’s leading global property adviser, has strengthened its UK Retail Lease Consultancy team with the appointment of Victoria Mayers from Gerald Eve, Phillip Smith from Capita Symonds and Robin Carson who joins from his own independent consultancy.

Carson brings more than 35 years experience in working with blue chip clients and on major projects. After leaving Cushman & Wakefield as a partner after nearly 30 years, Robin has since worked for Strutt & Parker and Donaldsons before setting up his own Property Consultancy. His specialisms include shopping centre lease consultancy and management.

Smith brings a breadth of experience to CBRE’s market leading High Street Lease Consultancy team. At Capita Symonds, he worked across high street retail, office, distribution and retail warehousing sectors. Phillip’s clients included McDonalds, NatWest, Next, RBS, Royal Mail and Sainsbury’s.

Mayers’ expertise is in negotiating retail rent reviews, lease renewals and lease regears. Her previous clients included Costa, Gondola, KFC, Sainsbury’s and WH Smith. Prior to working at Gerald Eve, Victoria worked at BNP Paribas.

CBRE’s UK Retail Lease Consultancy comprises 26 surveyors in specialist teams dealing with the High Street, Central London, Out of Town, Supermarkets, Large Stores and Shopping Centres. Together they have advised on more than 750 rent reviews, lease renewals and regears in the last 12 months for clients including British Land, Canary Wharf, Grosvenor, Hammerson, Henderson, HSBC, Land Securities, Legal and General, Lend Lease, Marks & Spencer, Next and Starbucks.
