New Huntingdon move for leading home improvement business

A 1,221 sq m (13,140 sq ft) unit at St Peter’s Road Industrial Estate in Huntingdon has been let to the UK’s largest privately owned home improvements business, confirms Barker Storey Matthews who acted for the landlord in the instruction.

The Kairos Group, trading locally under the Zenith Windows brand, will occupy Unit B1 Tower Close as its new depot headquarters in the region in a move which sees the business expand from smaller premises nearby on Latham Road, Huntingdon where it has been based for over 15 years.

With a headcount of 15 permanent employees, the company had been seeking additional depot space in which to run the installation and maintenance side of the business which serves both residential and commercial clients.

Alex Scott, Procurement Director of the Kairos Group, explains, “In looking for premises to acommodate the company’s growth, we wanted to remain in Huntingdon.

“The town is well placed for transport connections. As one of our twelve UK centres, from here we can serve clients across a large regional swathe of the country.

“The unit at Tower Close met all our requirements. Our workforce has recently expanded by 30 people and we are actively recruiting for additional installation teams to support our growth plans now we are occupying larger business premises.”

This is the second instruction let through Barker Storey Matthews at Tower Close recently. The neighbouring unit has been let for use as additional space to the occupier of Unit B3. The confirmation of these two recent lettings sees over 22,000 sq ft of industrial floor space secured by local, Huntingdon companies at one the town’s key industrial business locations.

Barker Storey Matthews reports that there is a continued shortage of industrial floor space within the Huntingdon area, with very few units of the type and size as these two recent lets at Tower Close available.
