Fast-growing Sorenson Media has expanded into additional offices next door to its existing UK headquarters in Cathedral Road, Cardiff, to accommodate its continued expansion.

The technology company, which has its HQ in Salt Lake City in the USA, opened in Cardiff in 2013 and took a five year lease on 5,585 sq ft of offices at Carlyle House in Cathedral Road in 2016. Now the company has leased the whole of the adjacent building at 9 Cathedral Road, comprising 4,296 sq ft over 4 floors at a rental of £9 per sq ft.

Sorenson Media was advised in both moves by Knight Frank. Landlord Baran Group was advised by Lambert Smith Hampton.

Steve Cormie, Sorenson Media executive vice president, said: “Carlyle House has been a great fit for us and with our team’s growth we had outgrown the offices. It was a natural fit for us to expand into this nearby, additional office space.”

Mark Sutton, partner at Knight Frank in Cardiff, said: “Cathedral Road has proved to be a popular choice for Sorenson, combining great parking and easy access to the city centre. The Carlyle House office filled up rapidly for this company that has only been in Cardiff for a few years. The additional space in 9 Cathedral Road will be fitted out to house new staff in the New Year.”

Sorenson Media operates in the field of next-generation television through its technology platform, which provides television broadcasters with detailed viewing analytics, as well as personalisation and interactive capabilities needed to improve the viewing experience, earn better ratings, and increase revenue.
