Meadowhall Business Park has welcomed expanding South Yorkshire law firm Wilford Smith.

ARBA Group, which has undertaken a multi-million pound redevelopment of the 70,000 sq ft business park, has let 2,800 sq ft to Rotherham-headquartered Wilford Smith as part of the company’s ambitious expansion programme both in the region and nationwide.

The letting has seen a team of professionals move into ground floor office space at Meadowhall Business Park chosen because of its location and accessibility for clients.

Wilford Smith, which specialises in major fraud and complex corporate cases, commercial conveyancing and estate planning, now has offices in Rotherham, Meadowhall Business Park and Paradise Street in Sheffield, and in central London.

After growing the team to 26 since set up in 1981, founder and senior partner Stephen Smith MBE said that the move to the 2,800 sq ft new premises on Carbrook Hall Road was an exciting step for the firm and a strategic move for Wilford Smith which continues to expand after gaining Alternative Business Structure status last year.

Stephen Smith said: “The office at Meadowhall Business Park is ideal and meets the needs of our team’s culture, working across one floor in a high-quality environment and the location makes us more accessible to clients.

“Our professionals have been operating across the region from our Rotherham office since 1981 and during that time we have expanded our team of experts by attracting high-calibre professionals with criminal and niche sector expertise – something we are very proud of.

“We are looking forward to continuing our growth in South Yorkshire and welcoming additional talented professionals and specialist teams to the company.”

Richard Burns, director at ARBA Group, said: “The offices at Meadowhall Business Park are proving to be well sought after and are attracting quality business to the region and furthering existing companies expansion plans.

“We’re pleased to welcome Wilford Smith to these high-profile offices to help their growing business expand further.

“The signing of this lease highlights that Meadowhall Business Park continues to prove to be a place where businesses want to relocate to and grow from.”

Wilford Smith join tenants including Tuffnells Parcels Express, Auburn Ainsley, Preventx, KitchenEx, Galaxy Insulation and Dry Lining (Holdings) Limited, NG Bailey and photography and makeover studio, Chique Photography at Meadowhall Business Park.

The second phase of a multi-million pound business park refurbishment has now been launched after 60 per cent of the site, adjacent to the city’s new IKEA development, was occupied in 2017.

Blocks two and four, totalling 30,000 sq ft of offices available in suites of 3,750 sq ft and larger, remain at the five-block park, which is being marketed by the Sheffield offices of Knight Frank and Campbell & Co.

Refurbishment at the site has included the removal of link-bridges between the units, new internal and external finishes including colour-coded exteriors, stylish break-out areas within foyer spaces and substantial landscaping and parking upgrades.

Meadowhall Business Park is located close to junction 34 of the M1, adjacent to Meadowhall Shopping Centre with a nearby Supertram stop and a frequent bus route from the city centre going through the park.
