Host of small businesses set up in former factory site sold by Mather Jamie

Several small businesses, including a mechanics, a furniture maker, a property maintenance company and even a boxing gym, are all moving into a former factory in Enderby sold by property experts Mather Jamie.

Lutterworth firm Morcott Developments bought Equiss House earlier this autumn and has divided up the property, on Townsend Road near the town’s centre, into separate units and is in the process of renting them out to the various companies.

The property includes office space recently refurbished by Morcott Developments, plus onsite parking and loading bays. Altogether, from early 2018, more than 20 people will be working from the 0.7 acre site, including property maintenance firm Tradesmen For London.

Alex Reid, Director of Mather Jamie, said; “Equiss House is a great example of a former industrial property that has been adapted and put to different use, allowing several smaller businesses to take up residence. We have plenty of other, similar properties in the area which could be repurposed for the modern market in many different ways.”

Carl Patrick, owner of Morcott Developments, said, “Following a swift sale through Mather Jamie, we’ve updated the property on Townsend Road, and have divided up the former factory building so that several different firms can take advantage of its good location and facilities. The space has proved so popular that we’ve already found tenants for all units.”
