Welsh IT consultancy DevOpsGuys is set to create yet more new jobs in Cardiff following its move to new offices in the city’s tallest office building, Capital Tower.

DevOpsGuys, which develops solutions to transform and accelerate the way that organisations deliver software, has moved to 5,558 sq ft offices on the 22nd Floor of Capital Tower, on a 10 year lease at a rent of £16 per sq ft. Landlord Topland was advised in the transaction by Knight Frank.

The company has expanded rapidly in recent years and, having outgrown its base at Trade Street, expects to double its current workforce to 170 within the next 18 months. It provides services to large enterprises and public sector organisations in the UK and overseas, including leading companies such as Admiral, ASOS, and DVLA.

Co-founder James Smith said: “We looked at the available office space in Cardiff and were really impressed with the refurbishment of Capital Tower that makes it a very attractive place to be based. The new entrance and manned reception, and the rapid new lifts which give access to our 22nd floor, are great for both staff and clients and the building also offered us the opportunity for future growth.

“We have fully refitted the space with a very contemporary feel, with bright colours, lots of glass walls to maximise the stunning views, and break out areas to enable collaborative working as much as possible.  It’s a great place to work in.”

Mark Sutton, partner in Knight Frank’s Cardiff office agency team, said: “Capital Tower is a compelling offer for occupiers and Topland’s commitment to a multi-million pound refurbishment is being rewarded with continued new lettings. Flexibility for expansion is important for high growth businesses such as DevOpsGuys and with suites from 1,000 sq ft and newly refurbished floors of 5,500 sq ft there are opportunities for occupiers of all sizes.”

John James, of joint agent Fletcher Morgan said: “Capital Tower’s position in the heart of the city centre has always been popular with occupiers and the new offering has attracted new arrivals from the IT, media and legal sectors.”
