BPF launches junior professional network ‘BPF Futures’

Harvin Chohan

The British Property Federation (BPF) has launched BPF Futures, a network for real estate professionals who have been working in the industry for 10 years or less.

Building on the continued success and growth of the annual BPF Tomorrow’s Leaders Awards, this new network marks a major step in the BPF’s commitment to recognising the contribution of real estate’s future leaders and supporting their success.

BPF Futures is designed to provide its participants with professional development and networking opportunities, drawing on the breadth of the BPF’s reach across all corners of the real estate industry, as well as its unparalleled expertise in government decisions, thinking, and policies that affect the real estate industry.

BPF Futures will be led by an industry Advisory Board:

Harvin Chohan, Apprentice Surveyor, CBRE (Chair)
Will Greenslade, Corporate Business Partner, British Land (Treasurer)
Isabelle Hease, Head of Research and Analytics, Ellandi (Learning & Development Officer)
Lois Kay, Development Surveyor, Peel Environmental (Regional Officer)
Sophia Nesro, Commercial Property Manager, ISG (Engagement Officer)
Kemi Oguntoye, Property Consultant, SAY Property Consulting (Diversity & Inclusivity Officer)
Eleanor Thomas, Senior BD Executive, Ashurst (Networking Officer)

Harvin Chohan, Apprentice Surveyor, CBRE comments:

“BPF Futures provides a unique opportunity for future industry leaders to not only hear from, but more importantly engage with a wide array of individuals and institutions who play a pivotal role within the real estate industry. The network will seek to build bridges and connect today’s real estate leaders with the next generation, as well as help industry entrants get a grip on the policy landscape that impacts their work. As an Apprentice Surveyor myself I know how valuable these opportunities will be, and I am hugely excited to be leading this important new industry project.”

Melanie Leech, Chief Executive, British Property Federation adds:

“We are delighted to introduce BPF Futures to the real estate industry, a new network to allow our future leaders to share, learn and develop. To thrive as an industry, we need to be doing everything we can to attract and retain talent – and BPF Futures will be committed to achieving this by providing real estate’s junior professionals with opportunities to engage with the industry at large and better understand their potential contribution to our shared goals.”

The BPF Futures launch event will be held on 5 December 2017, and registration to attend is open from today.

Attendees of the launch event will hear from senior executives working across different areas of real estate, who will discuss their experiences and journey so far in the industry – as well as their thoughts on how the real estate industry is changing and the new skills with which junior professionals need to equip themselves in order to become future leaders.
