Business Minister Edwina Hart has welcomed the news today that Firstsource Solutions is expanding in the UK with the opening of its first contact centre in Cardiff scheduled for June 2012.
Firstsource is a global provider of business process outsourcing services and this new business growth is an extension of the company’s strategic partnership with the UK’s largest entertainment and communications company Sky.
Their new centre at Discovery House in Cardiff, will employ over 600 staff who will handle calls for Sky customers – it will be one of three UK centres dedicated to Sky customer service – Londonderry, Belfast and now Cardiff.
Business Minister Edwina Hart said: “ Wales has an excellent reputation as a first class location for contact centres and I am delighted that Firstsource has chosen Cardiff for its latest expansion in the UK.
“It is a strong endorsement that Cardiff and Wales continue to offer the capacity, infrastructure and talent to contribute to the operations of a truly global business.”
