Fifty business professionals gathered on Friday (24th. February) to celebrate the official opening of the EnergySave head office in Ilkeston, following a £250,000 investment.

The business, which is expected to create 160 new jobs in the area, is now located in the largest unit of the former Co-Op building, located on South Street, and was declared open by the Mayor of Erewash, Councillor Abey Stevenson.

Guests were entertained with a red carpet, live music, canapés, champagne and balloon spectacular, and had photo opportunities with the Derby County mascot Rammie and the EnergySave Greeny mascot. A plaque dedicated to the occasion was also presented.

Jason Rowan, managing director of EnergySave, said: “We are delighted to have the Mayor of Erewash, Abey Stevenson, cut the ribbon to our new premises today.

“This is a great opportunity for our company to expand and grow, as we currently have offices in Derby, Leeds, Newcastle-Under-Lym, Sheffield and Leicester.

“The support we received from other local businesses, business professionals and the public was fantastic and I am very excited for the opportunities that Ilkeston holds for the business.”

The company, who hit the headlines after Katie Price attended its 2016 Christmas party, aims to create prosperity in the area by providing more job opportunities and business connections to Ilkeston.

Having started the company just three years ago, the energy efficiency specialists have a monthly turnover of £750,000, which is set to increase with the additional custom that the new premises and staff will bring.

EnergySave makes wall insulation, coating systems, double glazing and conservatories, all aimed at reducing customers’ energy costs.

The move has doubled the businesses job capacity, as the company originally had 127 employees before moving its head office from Spondon to Ilkeston.
