Bilfinger GVA contributes to South West development debate

Jo Davis, Managing Director Planning, Development, Regeneration, Avison Young, Bristol

As market sentiment and activity continues to shift post-referendum, the prospects for development, investment and the consequences for economic growth in the region are to be debated in a Movers and Shakers panel discussion in Bristol on 12th October.

Jo Davis, Regional Senior Director at Bilfinger GVA in Bristol has been invited to join the panel for the event, which will be attended by property and development professionals from throughout the city.

Key figures from the industry will be joining Jo, including Alistair Reid, Service Director, Economy at Bristol City Council, Jason Schofield, Chief Executive, Sutton Harbour Holdings plc; Simon Tothill, Property & Development Director, Robert Hitchins, and John Anderson, Executive Director, Kier Living.

Jo says, “This is likely to be an informative and lively discussion as the markets begin to settle down post-referendum, and Bristol is in the throes of an exciting yet challenging time for new development.

“Bristol has created a sustainable and robust economy over recent years which has resulted in it being the only UK core city outside of London that makes a positive contribution to the UK economy. That’s something we should all be very proud of – but it also poses some great challenges.

“In order to maintain this momentum we need to make sure that we offer business the environment in which to thrive. And that means building the right space in the right place. With little speculative development currently in the pipeline this presents a challenge for the city to continue attracting new occupiers.”
