Meatcure expansion into Hinckley confirmed

Visitors to the Crescent, Hinckley, can look forward to fresh meat following confirmation that a gourmet burger restaurant has agreed a deal to take space on the site.

Independently owned Meatcure, which specialises in fresh, handcrafted burgers along with steaks, salads, brunch and a kids menu, has taken on one of the last remaining units at the multi million pound Crescent development – and is aiming to officially launch in October.

Meatcure – which describes itself as a “fiercely independent restaurant group” and also offers craft beers, wines, shakes and cocktails – is working to bring the gourmet ‘burgers done properly’ concept into smaller market towns across the Midlands.

The Hinckley opening will be the restaurant group’s fifth branch, after first launching in Market Harborough in 2014 but then quickly expanding into Leicester, Leamington Spa and Bedford.

The burger experts, who took almost a year to perfect their signature prime cut patty, will be joining the likes of leading national outlets Sainsbury’s and Cineworld which have both already opened on the site – but it was the development’s passion for hosting independent, as well as national, brands which appealed to Meatcure.

Rob Martyniak, co-founder of the restaurant, said: “We had been keen to establish a presence in the Hinckley area for a while but didn’t manage to find a location which was the right fit at the time.

“This all changed when we heard news of the new Hinckley Crescent development – the team were clearly passionate and showed enthusiasm for a new Meatcure to open on-site, and the fact it has attracted both household national brands as well as independent and family-owned outlets reflects its wider appeal and forward thinking.

“Our ambition was always to build restaurants we want to hang out in and make food we want to eat – and with the Hinckley Crescent’s high visitor numbers, we are confident we will be well equipped to provide another Midlands town with fantastic tasting, quality burgers made of locally sourced ingredients.”

The burger group prides itself on its commitment to working with other local independent businesses, including family-run butchers Joseph Morris, based in South Kilworth, which supplies its meat and Market Harborough-based bakery Emerson and Wests, which supplies their unique recipe brioche buns.

Tony Baker, of the Tin Hat Partnership – the developers behind the Crescent, Hinckley, said: “In just two short years, Meatcure has made great strides and we are delighted to welcome them to the Crescent.

“Whilst attracting national operators to Hinckley is important, we feel we are getting a good mix of regional, independent operators that bring a good balance to the scheme.

“We are also very close to concluding another deal which would mean we are very close to filling the Crescent.”

Other occupants of the development include TK Maxx, Prezzo, Wed2B, Costa, Tarro Lounge, Elbow Room, FAB, Burger King, Simply Gym, Mobility & Lifestyle, Poundland, GHM! and Rossini – all of which are open.
