Danwood Wales, leading print and document specialists today announced it has chosen to support youth charity, The Prince’s Trust Cymru.
Specifically, the organisation has committed to donating £5,000 for the next three years to the charity’s Leadership Group, which offers opportunities for disadvantaged young people in Wales.
Richard Corkhill, Managing Director, Danwood Wales commented: “The Prince’s Trust has always been a charity that I have admired. Having worked with Danwood for eight years, I have been fortunate enough to see the company grow whilst also developing my career and skill set. With unemployment rates continuing to increase it’s even more important for young people to be given a chance to gain work experience and develop some of the skills needed in order to progress in the working world.”
“By investing in the Leadership Group, we hope to offer our help and support to young people who want to turn their lives around. We will be working in partnership with The Prince’s Trust and for those individuals that are keen to understand more about our industry we will be offering workshops in a bid to help change and influence their future for the better”, said Mr Corkhill. “In particular, we will provide the young people with work placements and apprenticeships looking at business process outsourcing, consultancy, procurement and sales which will help them to understand the business environment and develop transferable skills which they may not have been able to do in other situations.”
Director Rick Libbey, said: “The young people that The Prince’s Trust help are some of the most vulnerable and marginalised in society. Last year, three out of four young people we helped moved into work, training or education. Moreover, they changed their lives for the better, developed confidence, motivation, real skills and began to contribute to their communities and benefit society.
“We know our programmes work, but it takes money to turn lives around. In Wales we need to fundraise £3 million every year to continue to deliver our programmes. The Wales Leadership Group represents successful business men and women who want to help us turn untapped potential into an investment for the future and we are very grateful to Danwood for their support.”
