Swansea Bay Business Club holds first ever Carmarthen networking event

The Vice Chancellor of University of Wales Trinity Saint David (UWTSD), Medwin Hughes, has been announced as guest speaker for Swansea Bay Business Club’s first ever networking event in Carmarthen.

The education visionary who has been credited with leading the way in modernising UWTSD will talk at the event on June 24 at the Ivy Bush Hotel in Carmarthen as Swansea Bay Business Club continues to expand its networking opportunities through the city region.

With campuses in Swansea, Carmarthen and Lampeter, guests will hear about the University’s plans for teaming up with businesses across the city region in its bid to redefine the university experience for the 21st Century. Professor Hughes will also talk about UWTSD’s new £300 million Swansea Waterfront Innovation Quarter in the city’s SA1 area to create a learning-centred community for the University and for its academic, business and cultural partners.

Swansea Bay Business Club President, Hayley Davies, said: “We are delighted to be hosting our first ever event in Carmarthen as we continue our commitment to the entire Swansea Bay region. To have Medwin Hughes, as former principal of Trinity College in Carmarthen and now Vice Chancellor of UWTSD, speak at our first Carmarthen event is great and we look forward to hearing his vision for further and higher education throughout the region.

“As ever the lunch will also allow guests with excellent networking opportunities with like minded business people from across the region.”
