“Apollo” development, advanced manufacturing hub, Birmingham, gets green light

Leading Midlands’s commercial developer, Trebor Developments and investment partner, Aviva Investors, have obtained planning consent for their 94,500 sq ft speculative industrial development to be developed at the Advanced Manufacturing Hub, close to Birmingham City Centre, adjacent to the Aston Expressway/A38.  The development partners were appointed by the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) and Birmingham City Council to bring forward a speculative industrial facility.

To coincide with the granting of planning, the development partners have announced the appointment of A & H Construction Limited as main contractor to implement the project, with commencement on site for this high quality manufacturing and distribution facility from the start of July, allowing for occupation by February 2017.

Bob Tattrie, Managing Partner of Trebor Developments, on behalf of the partners commented: “This is the next significant step forward in the fast track implementation of this major, speculative, industrial facility, it will provide much needed quality manufacturing accommodation close to Birmingham City Centre.  Marketing of the scheme has commenced and we are already in early discussions with several parties”.

The Advanced Manufacturing Hub has already attracted two world class engineering companies, Hydraforce who have completed a new 125,000 sq ft unit and Guhring, whose works are on site.  This development will re-enforce the location for high value manufacturing.

The development is being marketed by joint agents, Savills Birmingham office (Charlie Spicer) and Cushman and Wakefield Birmingham office (David Binks and Colin Lawrence-Waterhouse).
