Specialist printers double space in South Wales move

Space to expand: Sharon Williams, MD of Pia, with Haydn Thomas, of Hutchings and Thomas Chartered Surveyors

Specialist Gwent printing firm Pia is looking to expand its business with a move into larger premises.

The firm, which employs 16 people and more at peak demand times, is moving from its current premises at Victoria Street, Old Cwmbran into a unit not far away at 42 Llantarnam Park, Cwmbran.

Pia, which specialises in printing Braille documents, large print and educational materials, has invested heavily in new printing machinery as part of the move to the larger premises which is twice the size of their former works.

Managing Director Sharon Williams said: “We have been looking for larger premises for while and eventually came down to a short list of three properties. Each needed to fit a number of key criteria a key one being that the new premises was easily accessible for our staff that use public transport.

“The unit at Llantarnam Park is ideal in every way. We are now in the process of transferring staff and the rest of our machinery to the new premises. We now have the space that we badly need to expand and grow to meet ever increasing demands on our specialist printing services.”

The property offers a total of 5,707 sq ft pf space with an ideal mix of production, office and storage space along with a large mezzanine floor with good loading and parking.

Haydn Thomas, of property agents Hutchings & Thomas Chartered Surveyors, said: “Pia were precise in their requirements and this building ticked most of the boxes. I’m delighted that the unit that we were able to source for them fits their needs so well.”

“Llantarnam Park is very well located in terms of accessibility to major transport links and in particular with its good public transport service.”
