iLocked secure first site at Marco Island development

‘iLocked’ a new virtual quest game, in which players have to work against the clock to escape from a series of rooms, will be coming to Nottingham in Marco Island this spring.

Otherwise known as ‘escape games’, players are locked into a series of interconnecting rooms and given clues that they must solve in order to escape before time runs out. Being purely based on logic, not physical strength, all can join in, from families to students to those just looking for an alternative night out.

It’s iLocked’s first UK venture, having started out in Russia where their quest style games proved a great success, and similar entertainment venues are now being widely seen in London and other major UK cities.

They are the first leisure tenant to take up space in the Marco Island development, having signed a 3 year lease for the 1,930 sq ft unit. It is ideally located on Huntingdon Street on the fringe of Nottingham city centre benefiting from an impressive traffic flow of approximately 30,000 cars per day whilst being in the midst of many residential developments, making it the ideal location for commercial operators.

Matt Revill of FHP who secured the letting comments:

“There has been much uncertainty surrounding Marco Island’s retail and leisure units at ground floor over the past few years however, since being purchased by the new owners it has been full steam ahead in securing operators for the ground floor of the development.

Since FHP began marketing the 18,376 sq ft unit on the ground floor we have received a lot of interest. We are hoping that this deal will be a catalyst for the remainder of the space which has already proven to be the case as we have received a further two offers. It is a testament to the owners who have managed to adopt a pragmatic approach when working with new tenants to agree deals which work for both landlord and tenant.FHP currently have a 4,638 sq ft unit under offer to a national retail operator, and a total of 11,808 sq ft remains which can be split up to suit individual requirements and it is available with vacant possession.”
