Doors open as thousands flock to Manchester for region’s largest Northern Powerhouse conference

Nearly 2,000 people will be heading to Manchester Central today, as the city-centre venue plays host to the UK Northern Powerhouse International Conference & Exhibition.

By business, for business; the two-day Conference brings together business leaders, world-leading experts and political heavyweights, to help drive the success of the Northern Powerhouse.

Key figures making major speeches today include Lord O’Neill of Gatley, Commercial Secretary to HM Treasury, Sir David Higgins, Executive Chairman of HS2, as well as the Chief Executives of several northern councils.

The sell-out event runs on 25-26 February, with significant announcements about the future of the Northern Powerhouse project expected across both days.

Attendees will arrive from across the world to collaborate, network and ultimately realise the commercial opportunities provided by the incoming wave of devolution and investment to the North of England.

Keith Griffiths, Co-Founder of the UK Northern Powerhouse International Conference and Exhibition said:

“I am delighted to open the doors to biggest commercial conversation in the North for a generation. This Conference is by business, for business, and we hope to play a major role in shaping the Northern Powerhouse and ensuring the region’s future economic success.”
