The East Midlands office of leading financial and business adviser Grant Thornton UK LLP has strengthened its regional team with the appointment of Mayuri Dhanak as Marketing and Business Development Assistant.
Mayuri, who lives in Leicester, joins the firm after more than three years as Marketing and Member Services Coordinator at the British Precast Concrete Federation, where she led the organisation’s marketing activities and organised its national programme of events, exhibitions, conferences and seminars.
A marketing graduate, she has held a number of specialist marketing roles including Marketing Assistant at Leicester’s Abbey Business School, and Events and Communication Coordinator at Aston Business School.
In the new role at Grant Thornton in Leicester, Mayuri is working with the firm’s central region and national PR, marketing and business development teams, supporting the Leicester team and its work with dynamic businesses and individuals across the East Midlands.
Driving forward the firm’s local and regional, internal and external communication strategies, Mayuri’s role includes coordinating an extensive events programme, including the firm’s flagship event – the unique East Midlands Top 200 report, a major annual project produced by the Leicester office in partnership with the CBI East Midlands since 2013.
Commenting on her appointment, Mayuri says she has ambitious plans: “I am excited by the role’s scope of opportunity and responsibility. I am enjoying working in a different environment to any of my previous marketing roles, and particularly within a global, leading professional services firm, working on a broad range of marketing and business development initiatives locally, regionally and nationally, utilising all marketing platforms, in particular social media.
“Research to compile the East Midlands Top 200 2016 is underway, so alongside the report’s core production team, we are working towards its launch when the rankings will be unveiled at a breakfast event on the 6th May.”
She added: “Grant Thornton is the first professional services firm to have a shared enterprise structure and this is both interesting and appealing, and adds an exciting dimension to the role.”
Grant Thornton has its East Midlands office in Leicester, where it has approximately 160 staff providing business and financial advice across Corporate and Personal Tax, audit and assurance, employer solutions, corporate finance, and sustainability, to organisations across the East Midlands.
The East Midlands Top 200 report provides a detailed financial analysis of the region’s 200 fastest growing companies which are managed and run from the East Midlands, covering Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire, and Nottinghamshire. The 2016 report launch event is at the Radisson Blue at East Midlands Airport on Friday 6th May.
