Bilfinger GVA boosts its Business Consultancy team with trio of appointments

Bilfinger GVA’s Manchester Business Consultancy team has been strengthened with three new appointments, following a period of growth.

Building Surveyor John Lee, Chartered Building Surveyor Ian Quinn and National Technical Manager Elaine Glasgow have all joined.

John Lee has had seven years’ experience as a surveyor to date. In that time he has delivered high profile projects at Chester Cathedral, Lancaster University and for Manchester City Council.

Chartered Building Surveyor Ian Quinn has experience in providing advice to clients from large multi-nationals to smaller developments, and has moved to Bilfinger GVA from Trident Building Consultancy.

Elaine Glasgow has returned to the industry after spending 14 years as a stay-at-home mum.

Layne Mercer, Senior Director at Bilfinger GVA, said: “We are delighted to be welcoming three new recruits to strengthen our expanding Building Consultancy team.

“These three boast an impressive portfolio of experience and we look forward to seeing what they bring to the team.”

Ian Quinn said on his new role: “Bilfinger GVA is a high-profile organisation with an outstanding reputation nationally and in Manchester particularly.

“With Bilfinger GVA’s diverse range of clients both new and existing, the office is exceptionally busy as the economy changes for the better, which makes it an exciting time to be joining the company to develop as a professional.”

John Lee said: “I joined Bilfinger GVA because I wanted to make the move from Project Manager to Building Surveyor and saw the company as a fantastic place to do that.

“Since starting I haven’t been disappointed and have been welcomed by the Building team and wider office in Manchester – I am very glad I chose Bilfinger GVA and hope to repay that trust by being successful in my new role.”

Elaine Glasgow said she was recently approached by Bilfinger GVA to review and adapt their Guidance and Best Practice as Technical Manager.

She added: “I have been a Chartered Building Surveyor since 1991 and previously worked for GVA Grimley between 1989 and 2002 on all aspects of Commercial Building Surveying.

“Before taking a career break to start a family, I also worked as a Project Manager for a Government organisation on a varied portfolio of new build and extensive refurbishment schemes.

“It has been great to meet up again with old colleagues, it is as if I never left.”
