Expanded Airport premises a ‘dream’ for healthcare firm

Growing business Medstrom Healthcare has snapped up additional premises at its East Midlands Airport base following a deal by property consultancy Innes England on behalf of CEG.

The firm, which runs bed management contracts at a number of hospitals as well as supplying products and services to more than 60 UK trusts, has increased its occupancy three-fold.

Scott Apsey managing director at Medstrom Healthcare, said: “Until now our stock has been split over a number of locations due to storage limitations and as a result, we were unable to operate as efficiently as we need to.

“In some cases these issues have negatively impacted our ability to serve our customers as well as they rightly demand. These new facilities solve these issues and provide complete centralised control and real time visibility of both finished goods and spares from multiple manufacturers, via state of the art warehouse automation.

“The additional space also provides the opportunity to offer additional services to our customers, who continue to value the flexibility we uniquely provide.”

Stuart Waite, associate director at Innes England, oversaw the deal on behalf of CEG which owns Air Cargo Centre.

He said: “This is a significant expansion for Medstrom Healthcare, which previously occupied around 3,000 sq ft in Unit 417 at Air Cargo Centre which has been re-geared and retained alongside the two additional units.

“The Air Cargo Centre is well located both in terms of its proximity to East Midlands Airport, but it also offers excellent transport links via the nearby M1 motorway and A50 to the rest of the UK.

“We are very pleased to have agreed the deal on behalf of CEG and assist Medstrom in its expansion.”

Nottingham-based property consultants Musson Liggins acted on behalf of Medstrom Healthcare.

Matthew Liggins, director of Musson Liggins, added: “As a retained client of the firm, Medstrom continue to expand its operational portfolio with office headquarters at East Midlands Airport. This acquisition will add further synergies to this fast growing business.”

Medstrom Healthcare has featured in the Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track Top 100 in three of the last four years thanks to its commitment to improving patient outcomes through specialist products and unique services.
