Fast growing Bristol-based independent accountants Corrigan Associates has appointed Richard Bunker as Partner as part of an ambitious expansion programme through 2016.

Managing Partner Edward Corrigan described Richard’s appointment as a great addition to the team in a fast moving market.

He said: “Richard is one of Bristol’s best-known accountants, advising business owners and private clients and he joins us with an extensive client portfolio. The Bristol accountancy market has seen a great deal of consolidation, but people like smaller independent practices like ours.”

Edward Corrigan, who has just completed his year as President of the ICAEW West of England, went on: “We are pleased Richard chose to join us recognising that our practice has grown by providing excellent service and maintaining client relationships.

“Our fee income increased by more than 20 per cent last year and Richard’s appointment helps us build a team to compete for work at the highest level. We are growing organically, reflecting increasing demand for independent, high quality service.”

Richard, a qualified chartered accountant and tax practitioner, joins Corrigan Associates at its offices on Lower Park Row, from Whyatt Pakeman. Before that he was a partner with a major national practice.

Richard said: “I am looking forward to starting 2016 as part of Ed’s fast developing team. He has created a great business and I am confident this will be a very positive move for me and my clients.”

Corrigan Associates was formed in 2009 by Edward Corrigan and is one of Bristol’s fastest growing accountancy practices, specialising in advising independent businesses.

The firms’ clients include high-tech companies, professional service businesses, overseas subsidiaries as well as a number of successful entrepreneurs. The firm was recently appointed FD in residence at award-winning business support hub Bristol SetSquared.
