Regional Director joins Pick Everard in Cardiff

Rob Cleaver

Leading multi-professional construction industry firm Pick Everard has expanded its team in Wales by appointing a new regional director to lead the firm’s Wales and South West regional team.

Rob Cleaver joins the firm’s established office in Cardiff, bringing more than 30 years’ experience in the construction industry in both the private and public sectors.

As an experienced project manager, Rob has overseen a number of high profile projects and frameworks across Wales and the South West including the development of a new multi-million pound PET (positron emission tomography) scanner at Heath Hospital on behalf of the Cardiff & Vale NHS Trust and Cardiff University as well as the £50m First Great Western Property Framework.

Rod Burton, partner at Pick Everard, said: “As a business, we are experiencing significant growth across the whole of the UK. We believe that both Wales and the South West present us with a real opportunity to expand the business further, making them regions that we are very keen to invest in.

“The Cardiff office has built up a very strong client base in Wales and across the South West. We have ambitious plans to grow that even further and we see Rob’s appointment very much as an important step to further enhancing our offering in the region.

“Rob has worked on a huge range of projects during his career, so he is perfectly positioned to help us take advantage of the opportunities for growth within Wales and, in conjunction with our Taunton office, in the South West too.

“He has also worked on both sides of the table, across a hugely varied range of projects across the UK, which gives him a real wealth of experience that will help us to achieve our ambitious plans for growth in Wales,” added Rod.

The new regional director is hugely experienced in project and construction management and has worked on both the consultancy and contracting sides of the industry. He joins the firm this month (November) and says he is relishing the opportunity to take on a new challenge at Pick Everard.

Rob said: “I have been working across Wales and the South West for many years on a number of varied and interesting projects from school expansions to multi-million pound infrastructure schemes and am really looking forward to working to push forward the business in the area.

“Pick Everard is a very well respected firm with ambitious plans for growth and that is something I am excited to be a part of.”

The firm was founded nearly 150 years ago and has consistently innovated, growing exponentially during the last six years in terms of sectors, workforce and market share – despite the economic downturn.

Pick Everard has recently been named one of the UK’s top employers in the construction industry. Within the Wales and South Region, the firm’s major clients include blue chip organisations such as EDF Energy and National Grid, public sector bodies including South Wales Police, Aberystwyth University, and developers including Vinci and Kier. The firm employs more than 450 staff across the UK, providing a range of project, cost and design consultancy services.
