Pre-sale of speculative development “shows strength of Clevedon industrial market”

The first phase of a speculative development of industrial and distribution units just off Kenn Road, Clevedon, has been sold prior to completion – a sure indicator, say the letting agents, of strong demand for business space in the area.

Work on the three units at Westfield Park, sized between 1,039 and 2,850 sq ft, started in June and since then three local businesses have committed to purchase the properties ahead of practical completion.

Work will now go ahead building a second phase of three more units, totalling 6,000 sq ft, with completion scheduled for Quarter 2 of 2016.

Says Malcolm Gunter, Director of the joint marketing agents Williams Gunter Hardwick, “The speed with which the units were purchased demonstrates just how much pent-up demand there is locally for well configured smaller industrial units available on a freehold basis.

“We have already received enquiries for the next phase, where asking prices will be approximately £125 / sq ft.”

Joint agents for Westfield Park are Burston Cook.
