Cardiff’s home of entertainment, The Red Dragon Centre, has announced that another top name is set to join its first class line-up this autumn, with the addition of ‘faster food’ favourite, Five Guys.

Famous for its abundant burger toppings and peanut oil cooked fries, the hugely popular chain is rapidly making its mark on the UK’s £3bn burger market and has developed a cult-like following since starting out in the United States 1986.

The company has already developed a strong Cardiff fan base since opening up its first restaurant in the Brewery Quarter in March, so Five Guys devotees will be pleased to learn of yet another location.

The new 3,000 square feet premises, within the Red Dragon, will see the restaurant join the likes of top eateries Grill N Shake, Chiquito, Spice Route, Bella Italia, Chicken House and Oriental Garden.

The restaurant will provide its distinctive style of service, where customers order and pay in one section and pick up their food from another. Eager eaters can also order online or on their mobile before arriving at The Red Dragon Centre to beat the queues.

Emma Constantinou, Marketing Manager for The Red Dragon Centre said: “We’re excited to welcome another big name to the centre and know that Five Guys fans and new customers alike will be delighted with this new addition.

“Five Guys’ following has grown incredibly since its first store opened in the UK two years ago and we’re looking forward to being a part of its continued success.”

Phil Morris, Partner of EJ Hales, letting agency for The Red Dragon Centre, said: “We really enjoy helping established brands expand into Wales. To have secured all three of Five Guys’ Welsh sites is brilliant.  Five Guys has already made its mark on Cardiff since opening in the Brewery Quarter earlier this year.

“The new restaurant will be a great addition to The Red Dragon Centre, capturing the Cardiff Bay market. We are also looking forward to the imminent opening in the Castle Quarter Swansea.”

Five Guys UK CEO John Eckbert added: “Five Guys is thrilled to be launching at The Red Dragon Centre and we can’t wait to build on the success of our first store which opened in Wales earlier this year.

“Five Guys was founded by the Murrells almost 30 years ago and we pioneered the premium burger market in the US based on a very simple menu, the highest quality ingredients, obsessively fresh preparation, and the belief that every burger should be bespoke – created to each customer’s exact specifications”.
