Civica relocates to landmark Bristol building in deal brokered by JLL

Specialist systems and out-sourcing company Civica has opened a new office in Bristol having secured accommodation at Spectrum in a deal brokered by leading property consultants JLL.

The letting is the largest in Bristol city centre since the start of the year.

Civica, which employs more than 2,500 people in more than 30 offices in UK and overseas, has agreed a lease for 15,000 ft² of space in the building, which has recently been purchased by Maddox Property Partners. Maddox is currently undertaking a comprehensive refurbishment of the property, improving existing facilities as well as providing additional facilities such as a café and business lounge/meeting space.

Civica, which was advised by property consultants, Ian Culverhouse and Co, has a strong record of growth in the UK, and will be bringing together teams from three offices in the wider Bristol area into one central location with the potential to expand over time. Initially, 180 people will be based at the new office.

Wendy Merry, group HR director at Civica, commented: “As Civica continues to grow, so we continue to invest in our people and facilities in order to ensure the business remains a great place to work. The new property will ensure we can create a flagship office in an excellent location.”

JLL and Knight Frank are joint letting agents for this landmark building located in the city centre directly opposite Cabot Circus and providing excellent access to the M32 motorway.

Steve Lane, associate director at JLL in Bristol, said: “The fact that Civica has chosen Spectrum is positive news for the building and the city. This letting, combined with the fact a high specification refurbishment is being undertaken, highlights that demand for good quality offices in the city centre remains high against a backdrop of reducing supply.”
