St Ives office market continues to prosper

Barker Storey Matthews’ Huntingdon office has let Unit 1 Clare Hall in St Ives, Cambridgeshire, comprising a self-contained two storey office building of 4,165 sq. ft. to local heating oil specialists, Boilerjuice.

Boilerjuice have taken a 5 year lease on the premises and are moving from their existing premises at Raleigh House on the Compass Point Business Park where they have been based for a number of years.

Following the relocation, Barker Storey Matthews were subsequently instructed to market their former offices at Raleigh House where a sale of the 2,000 sq. ft. office building is currently under negotiation.

Alan Matthews, Director at Barker Storey Matthews commented, “Since Q4 2014 there has been a considerable improvement in the demand for office space within the area. Much of this interest is for freehold property as occupiers are beginning to realise that there is a limited supply within the market”

He added, “12 months ago the office market was flat but with an improving economy, demand has stepped up and the availability of modern good quality stock, particularly freehold property, is diminishing rapidly”.
