Entertainment giant moves into Salisbury city centre

Salisbury’s retail economy has received another shot in the arm with the arrival of a leading entertainment and gadgets exchange company to central premises.

Property consultancy Myddelton & Major has successfully negotiated the letting of 3 Winchester Street, Salisbury, on behalf of Palace Capital Plc to CeX (UK) on a 10-year lease at an annual rent of £35,000 per annum exclusive.

Simon Lee, a partner at Myddelton & Major, said: “The letting of this double fronted shop unit close to Market Place at the heart of the city ensures full occupancy of a client-owned block and a good quality retail operator for Salisbury.

“The city’s retail economy is booming and the arrival of CeX, an expanding national franchise specialising in buying, selling and exchanging video games, computers, electronics, cameras and gadgets, demonstrates confidence on the high street today.

“CeX was founded in London in 1992 and now has stores in 10 countries. It is good to see such a go-ahead company opening up in Salisbury.”

The Winchester Street property occupies an excellent trading position close to its junction with Blue Boar Row and Queen Street and diagonally opposite the Market Place.

Top national traders nearby include Occasions Cards/Thorntons, Cambridge Wine Merchants, Coral, McDonalds, Games Workshop and Pizza Express.

The property has a ground floor sales area of 1,277 sq ft (118.63 sq m) and first floor of 1,696 sq ft (157.56 sq m).
