Property lender Together has announced the appointment of banking and commercial real estate expert Richard Jenkins as the finance firm expands its regional presence.
Richard, who has nearly two decades of experience in financial services, has been appointed the business’s first Corporate Sales Director for Wales and the South West.
At Together, he will be responsible for promoting the award-winning specialist lender’s products to professional sector introducers and direct customers across a wide geographical area.
Richard, who is from Cardiff, will be part of the lender’s Corporate team, which provides finance to individuals and businesses seeking larger loans of between £1m and £20m.
He said: “It’s great to be joining a common sense lender which can support SMEs and entrepreneurial individuals without the restrictions of the high street banks.
“I will be Together’s first corporate director specifically covering Wales and the South West, so it is an exciting opportunity for me to grow the brand in a new region.
“I’ll be getting across the message to my large network of professional introducers that Together really has the appetite to support across the region by providing finance needed to grow businesses from inner city Cardiff to the rural communities in West Wales and South West England.”
Richard began his career in financial services nearly 20 years ago as a cashier at Barclay’s before being promoted to the personal banking team.
He then joined the bank’s corporate team as a support manager for a senior corporate director, looking after key accounts for the likes of Principality Building Society.
He spent more than five years managing a portfolio of major commercial clients for Development Bank of Wales, before joining Metro Bank, where he was Commercial Lending Director for Wales.
At Together, which has a loan book of £8.4billion and provides finance including bridging loans commercial and Buy-to-Let mortgages, and development finance, Richard will report to Mark Eastwood, the group’s Director of Corporate Sales.
Mark said: “Richard has spent his entire career forging strong relationships with businesses across a wide geographical region, so we’re delighted to welcome him to a new role at Together.
“We’ve identified Wales and the South West as one of the key areas for us as we continue our expansion plans to provide Together’s fast and flexible finance to even more clients across the UK. Richard’s experience, knowledge and skills will be of huge benefit in realising our growth ambitions.”
