Newport office building sold to electrical firm

The Cardiff office of DTZ, part of UGL Services, has secured the sale of an office building in Newport, south Wales, on behalf of The Secretary of State for Communities & Local Government.

The detached office, located on 27 Argyle Street, comprises 2,258 sq ft sq ft of accommodation and has been sold to Mr Paul Russell for £87,500. The offices are arranged over three, single storey linked buildings which provide open plan and cellular offices.

Mr Russell will be using the office as a base for his electrical business.

Alex Easton, Associate Director at DTZ in Cardiff, commented: “This is one of three sales recently concluded on behalf of the Home Office following their consolidation at Usk House, George Street within the city centre. 27 Argyle Street offered a fairly rare opportunity for Mr Russell to acquire a freehold interest of this nature and to secure the premises at a competitive price.”

The property is located in Crindau, a mixed use area located approximately one mile north east of Newport city centre and close to the new Sainsbury’s superstore which opened in October 2010.
