TV Eggheads’ Quiz Master C J de Mooi was special guest at the City of Newport Business Club on Thursday 14 May 2015 at the Holiday Inn, Newport.
C J spent time mingling with guests prior to the meal, taking time out to talk to fans of the Eggheads quiz show. Loads of guests wanted selfies and C J was happy to oblige, even recording a short video for one of the guests!
After the hot buffet meal, C J delivered a five-round quiz in his recognisable style. The questions were eclectic and characteristically difficult, but extremely entertaining. The many teams did their best to exercise their grey cells in a battle to get some points on the board. C J was happy to provide a little ‘guidance’ to those teams who bought a copy of his latest book with the proceeds going to charity, so this proved a worthwhile investment for the more competitive participants!
The team from Jacklyn Dawson Solicitors came out on top – their sharp legal brains coming to the fore – and C J presented them with a selection of wine as their prize.

After a summer break, the next City of Newport Business Club event will take place in September 2015.
