Freeths host Alternative Investment Market seminar for East Midlands businesses

Freeths’ legal experts Tom Rowley, Bob Neal and Mike Copestake hosted a seminar on the Alternative Investment Market (AIM) of the London Stock Exchange to highlight the accessibility of AIM and how it can aid the growth of East Midlands companies from various commercial sectors.

Guest speakers included Mark Fahy who is in charge of small and mid cap companies for the London Stock Exchange who gave a detailed explanation of the benefits of listing on AIM and how this compared with a listing on the Main Market of the Stock Exchange.

Craig Robinson, CFO of Northbridge Industrial Services plc (a company listed on AIM) provided a wonderful insight into his firm’s experience of going though the AIM listings process and how Northbridge have successfully returned to AIM on several occasions to raise capital to fund further expansion.

Lastly, Antonio Bossi of Westhouse Securities plc, a prominent City of London stockbroker gave very useful advice on how companies preparing for a listing should structure and present themselves to potential AIM investors and emphasised how a strong management team with a good track record was the most important factor.

Guests included Dick Steele, the Chair of Portmeirion (whose shares are listed on AIM), Mike Turner the CEO of Reflex Labels and David Shelton the CEO of Motorpoint.
