Head of facilities appointed

Cushman & Wakefield, the global property consultant, announced today that Andrew Smart has joined the firm as a partner and head of facilities management for the EMEA region, based in London.

Andrew has over 20 years’ experience in the property and facilities sector. He joins from Mace Macro where he had worked as a director since April 2008 leading various business lines including consultancy, client accounts and corporate services. The services Andrew led included outsourcing, FM consultancy, workplace design and helpdesk to a wide range of clients in the banking, legal, commercial and government sectors. Prior to that, Andrew worked as Managing Director for Buying Force, CBRE FM, Sodexho FM, and as Operations Director for both Mapeley and Trillium.

In line with Cushman & Wakefield’s strategy to expand and align its facilities management services globally, it acquired full ownership of a joint venture, Corporate Occupier Solutions (COS), formed with EC Harris in 2006. In May 2011, the joint venture ceased to exist and the FM business became part of Cushman & Wakefield’s Corporate Occupier & Investor Services division in EMEA.

Andrew will lead the development of the former COS business into a major new service line for the firm. He will be responsible for the operational performance of the business whilst developing its growth strategy and securing new contracts.

Michael Creamer, Head of Corporate Occupier & Investor Services EMEA, Cushman & Wakefield, said, “Facilities management is a core service line within our global offering for corporate occupiers and owners. Andrew is a market leader in his field and the depth of expertise and experience he brings to the role will help us achieve our strategic goal to develop an EMEA facilities management offering.”
