BBC presenter Jamie Owen has audience in stitches at City of Newport Business Club event

At the recent City of Newport Business Club evening, BBC Wales Today anchor-man, Jamie Owen, had the audience in stitches with his talk on acronyms, business life and Wales in general.

Over 70 guests warmly welcomed Jamie who entertained them in his usual smooth and relaxing style.

His wit and humour was most enjoyable as he related funny stories and extremely interesting, anecdotal speeches which he delivered with clever, subtle hilarity. Jamie had kindly stepped in at the last minute for BBC Wales weatherman Derek Brockway due to a sudden family illness.

Away from the camera, Jamie also presents two series for BBC Radio Wales. An accomplished author of five books, Jamie has also worked extensively abroad for the BBC World Service Trust, advising broadcasters in Ramallah, Jordan, Libya and Egypt.

Janine Dance, City of Newport Business Club Chairman, states “Jamie had everyone falling about laughing with his anecdotes and observations. It was a fantastic evening and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves”

The next City of Newport Business Club event will be a lunchtime event taking place on Tuesday 17 th March 2015 with guest speaker Rob Frowen, Newport City Council’s Economic Development Manager, who will deliver an update on the City’s regeneration following on from his talk to the Business Club in October 2013 and will also outline the plans for the future. Tickets to attend this lunch time event cost £25.
