DTZ Cardiff expands with new recruits and promotions

DTZ has bolstered its Cardiff office with two new appointments and three promotions.

Laura Halse joins the Valuation team as Senior Surveyor, Matthew Wales joins the Project and Building Consultancy team also as a Senior Surveyor whilst Steve Pike is promoted to Associate Director and Rhys Griffiths and John Stockley are both now Senior Surveyors.

Laura Halse joins DTZ from The Edinburgh Woollen Mill Group where she was a Senior Estates Surveyor, managing a diverse portfolio of retail properties in London and the South East. In her new role, Laura will be responsible for the day-to-day strategic management of a large portfolio of Corporate Recovery cases in addition to providing extensive Landlord and Tenant advisory expertise to clients. She will report to Richard Murphy, Senior Director.

Rhys Griffiths principally manages a key Corporate Recovery portfolio in addition to providing Valuation and Landlord and Tenant advice for key clients. He has been promoted to Senior Surveyor within the DTZ Valuation & Professional Advisory Services (PAS) teams.

Richard Murphy said: “Laura joins at a time when we have experienced sustained growth in the team’s client base and revenue. The Corporate Recovery element of the business involves an extensive portfolio and we are also experiencing increased demand from our funder clients for high quality early advice as they start to lend again, reflecting improved market activity. The extensive experience within our team, now supplemented by Laura and Rhys’ expertise, means that we continue to be best placed to support clients in this area.”

Joining the Project & Building Consultancy team as Senior Surveyor is Matthew Wales. An experienced Building Surveyor, Matthew has worked nationally and internationally on a diverse projects including fit out projects to prime office locations in the South East and London, the refurbishment of properties on Whitehall including the Wales and Scotland offices and managing various flood reinstatement projects in the Somerset Area following the flooding event of 2014.

Heading up the Project and Building Consultancy team is Steve Pike who has been promoted to Associate Director whilst John Stockley has been promoted to Senior Building Surveyor. Both Steve and John started their careers on the DTZ Graduate Programme
