Coventry University agrees deal on another city centre office

Coventry University has struck a ten-year rental deal on a prominent office in Coventry city centre.

The University has agreed to take all six floors at Portal House in New Union Street which includes 27,312 sq ft of office space. It will house a number of Coventry University’s professional services staff to free up capacity on campus.

Commercial property specialists Shortland Penn + Moore acted on behalf of the owners of the property, Cannock Residential.

David Penn, managing director of Shortland Penn + Moore, said: “This is yet another example of strong demand for quality office space in Coventry city centre.

“Portal House has been refurbished to a high-specification and was perfect for Coventry University’s requirements.

“There is no doubt, however, that Coventry continues to cry out for more high quality office accommodation.”

David Soutter, deputy vice-chancellor of Coventry University, said: “We required further space in the city centre and Portal House was exactly what we were looking for.

“Staff will begin to move across very soon and that will help to free up much-needed space on campus for teaching and research purposes.”
