City of Newport Business Club is pleased to announce Wales’ most famous and best loved weather man Derek Brockway as their guest speaker at the forthcoming business dinner to be held on Thursday 5 February 2015 at The Holiday Inn Newport commencing at 5.30pm.
Brought up in Barry, Derek joined BBC ‘Wales Today’ in 1997 where he has been the lead weather forecaster for over 13 years. As well as broadcasting the lunchtime, evening and late TV weather forecast, he also presents regular weather bulletins on BBC Radio Wales.
A keen walker, Derek has also had five series on BBC Radio Wales entitled ‘Weatherman Walking’ before the programme was converted into a popular television series shown on BBC One Wales. His knowledge and fascination with the weather coupled with his walking experiences will make for an unforgettable talk.
