Sir Chris Evans to chair BioWales Dragons’ Den

Potential entrepreneurs and established companies working in the lifesciences sector have the chance to pitch their bright business ideas to an investor panel at BioWales 2015  – and win an industry-donated cash prize to kick-start their venture.

The Dragons’ Den style competition opens with companies being asked to submit a two minute video application describing their idea, its innovative features, commercial potential, the need for funding and route to market.

The top ranking applications will then be shortlisted and invited to pitch to the panel of leading financial investors – chaired by Professor Sir Chris Evans – in front of an audience at the BioWales 2015 conference on 4 March. The winning pitch wins an industry-donated cash prize of up to £3000.

The competition opened for applications yesterday (18 December)  with a 28 January 2015 deadline and interested businesses should apply via the BioWales website https://biowales.com

Registration for BioWales, which returns to the Millennium Centre on 4 & 5 March 2015, is now open with early bird rates on offer until 22 December, representing a 35% saving of £140.

The life sciences supply chain is the key focus of BioWales 2015 and will provide practical commercial opportunities for growth through novel routes to market in the private sector and NHS.

An international line-up of speakers and industry experts, including Novartis International AG, GE Healthcare, PCI, MHRA and NHS Wales, will deliver keynote addresses and lead the showcase discussions around supply chain opportunities, including product innovation, NHS/industry partnership working, clinical trials, regulation of medicine and healthcare products, and routes to market.
