Watkins & Gunn add talented solicitor to their team

Welsh law firm, Watkins & Gunn, has added an additional solicitor to the growing Conveyancing and Private Client Team at their newly opened Cardiff office.

Abigail Cumpstone, originally from Cwmbran, recently qualified as a solicitor after successfully completing her training contract, which she started with the firm in 2009. Abigail initially studied law at Swansea University before going on to do her LPC in Cardiff.

Since then, Abigail has worked in many of the firm’s departments, gaining a valuable insight into the legal sector and the business itself. It is due to her particular interest in Conveyancing and Private Client work that she will now specialise in these areas.

On her qualification, Abigail said, “I was thrilled to receive the double bonus of not only qualifying as a solicitor but also being offered a job at Watkins & Gunn. It is the culmination of six years of hard work and the perfect way to repay the faith that the firm has shown in me throughout my training.”

Managing Partner, Clive Thomas, added, “We saw great potential in Abigail from the beginning. We had no doubt that her dedication and hard work would ensure that she qualified as a solicitor.

“As well as being a very talented solicitor, Abigail is a lovely person and very popular with our staff and clients and so we are delighted that she has joined us in her new role at our Cardiff office. She is a great asset and I am sure she will have a very successful career with us.”

Watkins & Gunn is one of Wales’ oldest law firms and has offices in Newport, Cardiff and Pontypool. This year, among other accolades, the firm has been crowned Legal firm of the year in the 360 Legal Awards, while Managing Partner Clive was named Private Sector Leader of the Year in the Leading Wales Awards.
